Track and Field

Team –

We are student-athletes (girls and boys) who are aligned with our Catholic faith and looking to better themselves in mind, body, and spirit.
We expect that they will range from the 100% all-in to track & field to the casual student-athlete who will be blending track & field with soccer, softball, or baseball.  We are coaches and directors with a base level of track & field knowledge and/or a desire to learn and energy to strive toward the mission of the program.

Participants may range in age from 4-year-old preschool to fifth grade.  Meets will have age divisions - typically Preschool - Kindergarten, first and second, third and fourth, fifth and sixth.  We do not compete with sixth graders as they participate with their individual schools.

Events –

25M to 1600M Dashes, 4x100 & 4x400 Relays, Long Jump, High Jump, Softball Throw, Shot Put, Discuss, Turbo Javelin.

Costs –
Registration fee of $75/athlete.  This is to cover the cost of team meets, insurance, the use of program equipment & jersey, and miscellaneous expenses.

Practices –
Will start March 11th and will be at BCCHS stadium or north practice fields.  Practices will be on Tuesdays & Thursdays.  Preschool to 2nd graders will practice from 6:00PM to 7:00PM, and 3rd to 5th graders will practice from 6:00PM to 7:30PM.

Meets –
The program plans to compete in 4 to 5 meets, hosted in the Wichita area (Andale, Garden Plain, Halstead, Hesston, Rose Hill, Wichita Independent) from early April thru early May.  Meets are on Saturdays from 8AM to 5PM.  Athletes can compete in as many or as few of the meets as they would like.  An athlete must attend at least one practice the week prior to a meet to compete.  First meet will be on April 5th.

At the meets, the coaches will do their best to support your student-athlete.  There are many athletes with several events and age groups taking place at the same time.  Therefore, it is important that each student-athlete have someone there to help support them and get them to each event.
